Persevering Faith

This is no time for the faint of heart, because for many people, today is a day of adversity.

How you and I respond to adversity in our lives determines whether we will walk in victory or fall in defeat.

One thing we need to remember is that victorious people are not those who never encounter tough situations; they are those who do not give up when the difficulties seem overwhelming.

In these times, you and I need to keep developing our faith and praying like never before. As we do, God will be our strength and we persevere through every trial. We’ll walk in victory if we don’t give up. Think about this: when you make popcorn, you put it in the microwave and turn it on high. For awhile, it seems like absolutely nothing is happening. But after a short time, you hear a “pop.”

If you took the bag out right then, you’d be very disappointed in your snack. You’d be like someone who has been praying and believing, and when something good happens, they say “Is that all I get? I’ve been praying for weeks, and this is all I get?”

If, however, you leave the popcorn in the microwave and wait a bit longer, you will hear another “pop,” then another “pop, pop, pop” and pretty soon, all you can hear is popping!

Keep on putting God’s Word in your heart until it takes over the very thoughts that you think.  Remain strong and ready, praying and listening to the voice of the Spirit. As you do these things, you’ll have supernatural strength to persevere and walk in victory. This is no time to faint.
