For He made Him who knew no sin to be sin for us, that we might become the righteousness of God in Him. – 2 Corinthians 5:21
As followers of Christ, the greatest blessings we will ever receive come through faith in the blood of Jesus. In the Old Testament, blood was sprinkled on the mercy seat as a temporary covering for sin. But Jesus, the spotless Lamb of God, offered His blood in the very presence of God in heaven.
On the cross, something incredible happened: Jesus took our place! This means that it is not by our own efforts or goodness that we are made right with God — it is by applying His blood. His life was sinless and perfect, and His blood is powerful enough to cleanse us completely.
Revelation 12:11 tells us, “They overcame him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony.” This is something we can apply every day with the words we speak. We can declare what Jesus’ blood has accomplished: forgiveness, healing, peace, victory—whatever it is that we need.
When we face challenges, when lies are spoken over our lives, or if fear knocks on our door — we can claim victory by declaring what God says about us. “Let the redeemed of the Lord say so” (Psalm 107:2). The blood of Jesus declares you righteous, healed, and victorious. Apply it daily by believing in your heart and speaking with your mouth.
What area of your life today needs to be reminded of the power of the blood of Jesus — and what can you boldly declare over it according to God’s Word?
