HAVING BIBLICAL FAITH

But without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him. – Hebrews 11:6
Biblical faith does not simply believe that God exists. It trusts Him enough to act on what He says. Someone with this kind of faith seeks God expecting to receive what He has promised.
It is possible to agree with the Bible in our minds but not allow it to shape our decisions and actions. James reminds us that even the demons believe in God—and tremble (James 2:19). Real faith changes the way we think, speak, and live. James 2:26 says, “For as the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without works is dead also.” In other words, if our faith does not lead us to take action, it is not Biblical faith at all.
When it comes to faith, there are two ditches people sometimes fall into. One is that they feel they have to be perfect to earn something from God. The other is thinking God owes them because they have done so well. But the Bible teaches that everything God gives us comes by grace through faith. Romans 10:8 says, “The word is near you, in your mouth and in your heart.” This means God has already put what you need inside you—your part is to believe it and act on it.
As a believer, you have authority in Jesus’s name. When you believe in His name, it is as though He is speaking and acting through you. Remember, God works “according to the power that works in us” (Ephesians 3:20). His power is in you. As you believe it, speak it, and act on it, you have Biblical faith—the kind of faith that pleases God and brings His promises to pass in your life.
